You darn skippy it's not a plastic bag!!

Convenience stores and supermarkets are over China are ditching plastic bags for environmental safety. (Actually, you can still get a bag, but it costs extra, and most people don't want to spend more money than they have to.) I think China will make this into a fashion contest, "Who has the prettiest, most cutting edge big shopping bag."

终于看到有样的约束行为，做为中国人来说，并不讳言，人们的环保意识很差，像少用塑料袋的这种事情还非得成为政府行令！
但是光超市和菜市这些场合不用还不行，要从根本做起，停止生产这些袋子才行。要像国外一样，用纸袋，我有时就很奇怪，别人好的东西我们为什么就学不来？

In my opinion, most people wouldn't mind paying a few mao for a bag when they are already spending 100 kuai on groceries...especially when they forget to take their shopping bags with them when leaving for work in the morning...
So I agree with Mr. Fu Ka: until the government issues a ban on the manufacture of plastic grocery bags, people wouldn't think twice when stuffing their plasic bags with groceries....and that's the sad truth...

P.S. I gave my parents a couple grocery bags when I was in China a few months ago, and my dad had such a hard time remembering to take it with him every morning before going to the "zao shi"(morning market)....sigh.... :/
